t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
Removing:
  Note
t  To disconnect and reconnect the battery, the procedure described in the workshop manual should be strictly adhered to → Chapter.
t  If the vehicle has a radio with anti-theft coding, obtain code from customer before disconnecting battery.
t  When the battery is reconnected, check operation of vehicle electrical equipment (radio, clock and electric windows etc.) according to Workshop Manual or Owner's Manual.
–  Disconnect battery → Chapter.
–  Remove driver airbag → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.69.

–  Remove cross-head screws -1-.
–  Remove Torx bolt -2-.
–  Remove lower trim -3- and side trim -4- for steering column switch.

–  Detach connector -arrow- from resetting unit.
–  Remove steering wheel → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.69.

–  Detach upper steering column trim -1-.
–  Remove securing bolts -arrows-.

–  Disconnect connectors -arrows- from steering column switch.
–  Remove connector housing -1- downwards out of guide on steering lock housing.
–  Remove steering column switch.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in reverse order of removal.
