Coding data bus diagnostic interface -J533-
  Note
t  The following sequence is described for the fault reader -V.A.G 1551-, the sequence described in the chapter for the “vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system may also be used” → Chapter.
t  The data bus diagnostic interface -J533- must be coded according to the vehicle equipment levels if the dash panel insert is renewed.
t  The data bus diagnostic interface -J533- in the new (replacement) dash panel insert must be re-coded in all cases, even if the correct code number has already been saved.
–  Initiating self-diagnosis of data bus diagnostic interface -J533- → Chapter.
   
Indicated on display:
–  Press keys 0 and 7. (07 selects the function “Code control unit”).

The code numbers of the control units connected to the powertrain data bus must be added together.
  Note
The combi-instrument “00004” must always be coded.
Example:
Airbag + combi-instrument + ABS:
00016 + 00004 + 00002 = 00022
