Self-diagnosis of Radio/Navigation system (RNS) with multi-function display (MFD)

Notes:

The correct tyre circumference can be determined for the given tyre sizes from the following table. This can then be used to adapt the tyre circumference on the radio/navigation system.

This is only necessary when the Radio/Navigation system unit is exchanged.

Adaption of the Radio/Navigation system when fitting tyres of another sizes is not necessary as the system will recalibrate itself.

Adaption of ABS wheel sensor impulses

Note:

Adaption of the ABS wheel sensors is only necessary when the Radio/Navigation system unit is exchanged.
 
→ Indicated on display:

Select function XX
  • ‒ Press keys 1 and 0. (10 selects the "Adaption" function.)

  • ‒ Press keys 0 and 2. ("Channel 2" is selected with 02.)

Note:

  • ◆ An incorrect entry can be corrected by pressing the C key.

The selected channel and actual impulse number for the ABS wheel sensor are displayed in the top line.

  • ‒ Press ⇒ key.

  • ‒ Enter new impulse number, when doing this place three zeros before the 2 digit number (e.g. 00043).

Note:

For the Polo the standard impulse number is 43.

Adapting RNS system "with or without traffic information control unit"

Note:

For new units, adaption of traffic information control unit is performed via the navigation system coding, => Coding navigation system, .

For the Polo the specification for vehicles with traffic information control unit via the adaption is 01 (active).

For the Polo the specification for vehicles without traffic information control unit via the adaption is 00 (not active).
