During repainting, four type of paint may be applied: Synthetic
Enamel, Polyurethane (PU) Enamel and Polyester Based. |
Paint based on resin with glossy finish. |
t
| Low resistance to weather |
Polyurethane based paint, also known as PU paint. It needs
a catalyst for application and drying. |
t
| Bicomponent paint (paint + catalyst) |
t
| High resistance to chemicals and weather |
t
| Smooth (solid) colors, metalized or pearlescent |
Polyester Base + PU Varnish |
Polyester Base: Product based on polyester resin, used as
base prior to application of varnish. It needs the application of
varnish over the paint in order to gain brightness and resistance,
and will then have characteristics similar to those of PU paint. |
t
| No resistance to chemicals or weather (without the application
of varnish) |
t
| Mat (without the application of varnish) |
t
| Smooth (solid) colors, metalized or pearlescent |
Polyurethane (PU) Varnish |
Its application is necessary after the painting with polyester
base, since this paint does not feature sufficient brightness or resistance
to weather. It needs a catalyst for application and drying. |
Note Varnish must be catalyzed according to manufacturer's
recommendation. |
