Crankshaft seal (pulley side) - replace > < Checking sequence
Crankshaft seal and engine steering wheel - remove and install
Crankshaft seal and engine steering wheel - remove and install

Repair jobs on clutch: → Rep. Gr.30
   
1 - Crankshaft front seal
q   Do not lubricate or grease seal lip
q   Before installation, remove oil residues from crankshaft trunnion with clean cloth.
q   Replace crankshaft seal on pulley side → Chapter and → Chapter.
2 - Crankshaft front flange
q   Must seat on coupling guides
q   Remove and install → Chapter.
q   Install with silicone seal D 176 404 A2 → Chapter.
3 - Engine block
q   Remove and install crankshaft → Chapter.
q   Disassemble and assemble piston and rod → Chapter.
4 - 60 Nm + 90 °
q   Replace
q   Additional torque may be applied in any steps
5 - Steering wheel
q   To remove and install steering wheel lock with leaning support -T10044- and -T10044/1- lock → Fig.
6 - Intermediate plate
q   Must seat on coupling guides
q   Do not damage or fold during installation
7 - 15 Nm
8 - Crankshaft with rear flange with seal
q   Replace only the set
q   Do not lubricate or grease seal sealing lip
q   Before installation, remove oil residues from crankshaft trunnion with a clean cloth.
q   To install, use coupling guide supplied by the manufacturer
q   Coupling guide can only be removed after seal has been installed on crankshaft trunnion
9 - 15 Nm

   
Remove and install steering wheel
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Leaning support -T10044- with bush -T10044/1-
Screw leaning support -T10044- with bush -T10044/1- to remove and install steering wheel on engine block.
