q	Marked by impressions on connecting pipe

q	During production, front and rear silencers are installed as a single component. In repair cases, the front exhaust pipe and rear silencer are supplied individually with a double clamp for connecting together

q	Cut through connecting pipe at right angles at separating point using pneumatic sabre saw -V.A.G 1523A- → Fig.

5 -	Rear silencer

WARNING

To avoid injury from metal shavings, wear eye protection and protective clothing.

Separating point on exhaust pipe

–	Separate exhaust pipe at right angles at separating point -arrow 2-.

–	Position repair double clamp -4- on side markings -arrow 1- and -arrow 3- when installing. Specified torque: 25 Nm.
