Checking fuel pressure regulating valve - N276-

t  Always follow these rules for cleanliness and instructions before starting work and while working on the fuel system.
l  Engine at operating temperature.
l  Air conditioner switched off
»Carry out the following work sequence«
–  Remove engine cover panel → Chapter.
–  Remove noise insulation from injectors.
   
–  Pull off fuel return line -2-.
  A23-10427
–  Seal open return line connection with a blanking plug -1-.
–  Connect fuel return line -2- to suitable hose -3-.
  A23-10319
–  Hold the end of this hose -1- in a suitable container -2- to measure the return flow rate.
1) Check with engine running
–  Start engine and run at idling speed.
l  Specified amount in 30 seconds: ≥75 ml
If the specification is not attained, the fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- is defective.
2) Check with engine running
If condition in 1) is met, increase engine speed to ≥ 2000 revs/min.
l  Return flow rate specification: 0 ml
l  Droplets are allowed
l  If the specification is not attained, the fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- is defective.
3) If it is no longer possible to start engine
Carry out check with starting speed.
l  Return flow rate specification: 0 ml
l  Droplets are allowed
l  If the specification is not attained, the fuel pressure regulating valve -N276- is defective.
