Removing and installing engine speed senderG 28
Removing and installing engine speed sender -G 28-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hexagon key extension, 4 mm -T10370-
  W00-10582
t  Assembly tool -T10118-
–  Remove noise insulation → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
Polo
  W00-1148
–  Remove bolts -3- and secure coolant circulation pump 2 -V178- with coolant hoses still connected -arrows- on right-hand side.
  Note
Disregard -item 1, 2-.
Continuation for all vehicles
  A19-11181
–  Disconnect electrical connector -1- at engine speed sender -G28- using assembly tool -T10118-.
  Note
To release electrical connector without assembly tool -T10118-, press connector on engine speed sender in with a screwdriver and at the same time lift release tab with a thin wire hook.
  A23-10423
–  Remove securing bolt -arrow- and pull out engine speed sender -G28-.
Installation is performed in the reverse order, observing the following: specified torques for engine speed sender -G28- securing bolt: 5 Nm.
Polo
–  Install coolant circulation pump 2 → Chapter „Removing and installing coolant circulation pump 2 -V178- (Polo)“.
