Removing and installing rubber bush for anti-roll bar
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  W00-0427
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-
Removing rubber bush
–  Remove noise insulation.
–  Remove right drive shaft from gearbox and fix with wire.

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- on both sides.
–  Pull anti-roll bar clamp off rubber bush.
–  Remove rubber bush from anti-roll bar.
Installing rubber bush
  N40-10345
–  Insert new rubber bush -1- on anti-roll bar via opening -arrow-.
  Note
t  Ensure that the outer edge of rubber bush -1- lies against stop -2-.
t  Depending on version, the stop -2- can be located on the left or on the right of rubber bush.
  N40-10305
–  Secure clamps to subframe -arrows-.
–  Install right drive shaft.
–  Install noise insulation.

Specified torques

Anti-roll bar to subframe
t  Use new bolts.
20 Nm + 90°
Drive shaft to flange shaft on gearbox “M8 multi-point socket”
t  Use new bolts.
t  Use new lock plates.
40 Nm
t  Initially tighten diagonally to 10 Nm
Drive shaft to flange shaft on gearbox “M10 multi-point socket”
t  Use new bolts.
t  Use new lock plates.
70 Nm
t  Initially tighten diagonally to 10 Nm
