Removing and installing wiper arms
  Caution
When batteries are disconnected and reconnected, the procedure described in the workshop manual must be strictly observed → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  W00-0427
t  Puller -T10369-
Removing:
  W00-10632
–  Lever off the cover caps -arrows- using a suitable screwdriver.
  N92-10464
–  Remove securing nuts -arrows-.
  N92-10465
–  Slide legs of puller -T10369/1--2- under wiper arm -4- as shown in the illustration.
  Caution
The wiper shaft may be damaged.
Always use the thrust piece -3- to loosen the wiper arm.
–  Turn thrust bolt -1- of puller clockwise until thrust piece -3- comes into contact with wiper shaft. Turn thrust bolt -1- of puller clockwise using a 6 mm Allen key until wiper arm -4- is loosened off shaft.
–  Remove puller and wiper arm.
Installing:
  Note
Securing nuts of wiper arms are not tightened to specified torque until after wiper blade park position has been adjusted.
–  To move wiper motors to their park position, switch windscreen wipers on and off with ignition on.
–  Fit wiper arm in approximate park position on wiper arm shaft and tighten securing nut -arrow- by hand.
–  Repeat same work procedure on front passenger side.
–  Adjust windscreen wiper blade park position → Chapter.
