Procedure for Both Sides

Pry the flange shaft seal off with an extractor lever VW 681.

Installing

-

Lightly lubricate the outer diameter of the new seal and use the thrust piece T10049 to install it as far as the stop without tilting it.

-

Fill half of volume between sealing lip and dust lip with sealing grease G 052 128 A1

-

Clamp the flange shaft in a vise with jaw protectors.

-

Press the circlip out of the flange shaft groove with new circlip -A-.

-

Install the flange shaft with a plastic mallet and a drift, if necessary.

-

Install the drive axle.
