Valve Body: Removal and Replacement

CAUTION! Do not run engine with the oil pan removed or without ATF filling and do not tow vehicle.

Valve body or wiring harnesses can also be removed with transmission installed.

Insert seals with ATF. Other lubricating substances lead to functional problems in the hydraulic transmission control.

Always replace a soiled or faulty valve body.
^
Do not use fluffy cloths!
^
After installing oil pan, ATF level must be checked and topped off.

Torque Wrench V.A.G 1331

Remove oil pan.

Remove oil strainer.

Disconnect connector form solenoid valves through.
To unlock connector housing on the solenoid valves, use a flat head screwdriver with a 2.5 mm shaft diameter.
CAUTION! If a connector or the connector housing are damaged, then the wiring harness or solenoid valve must be replaced.

Disconnect connectors and.

Remove bracket for connectors and.

Disconnect Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor G93 and carefully remove it from the valve body.

Bend securing plate on shift lever back.

Remove shift lever -1- from shift rod.

Carefully hold shift lever -1- in place using pliers -2- so that torque is not transferred to Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch F125.
