Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Trim removal wedge (3409)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove the Electro-Mechanical Parking Brake Button (E538)

-

Remove the center console cover => [ Center Console Cover ] See: Center Console Cover

-

Remove the trim on both sides of the footwell => [ Footwell Trim ] See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Footwell Trim

Vehicles with a center console without a center armrest 

-

Remove the center console, without center armrest => [ Center Console with Armrest ] See: Center Console with Armrest

Vehicles with a center console with a center armrest 

-

Remove the DVD player if present.

-

Remove the CD changer if present.

-

If present, remove the mount for the "Apple" " iPOD player".

-

Remove the storage compartment with USB connection, if present.

-

Remove the multi media system control module, if present.

Vehicles with multi media system

Remove the multi media control head.

Vehicles with Converter with Socket, 12V, 230V (U13)

-

Remove the Converter with Socket, 12V, 230V ( U13).

-

Remove the center console trim => [ Center Console Trim ] See: Center Console Trim

Remove the center console, with center armrest => [ Center Console without Armrest ] See: Center Console without Armrest

-

Remove two nuts - 1 - (8 Nm) and remove mounting bracket - 2 -.
