Variable Induction Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Multimeter.

‹› Wiring diagram.

Test requirements

‹› The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Valve (N316) fuse OK.

‹› The Engine Component Power Supply Relay (J757) OK.

‹› The parking brake engaged.

‹› The battery voltage at least 12.5 V.

‹› The selector lever of automatic transmission in position "P" or " N".

‹› All electrical consumers switched off (radiator fan must NOT run during  test).

‹› A/C switched off.

‹› The fuel tank at least 1/4 filled.

‹› The ignition switched off.

Test procedure

Start diagnosis

Remove the rear engine cover - arrows -.

-

Disconnect the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Valve  (N316) electrical harness connector - 5 -.
