Remove child safety latch and outer door handle

Remove lock

Lift out lock from left-hand side (viewed from rear) of vehicle

Drill two holes (see illus.)

Drill diam. = 8 mm (5/16 in.)

NOTE:

Illustration shows tailgate open, viewed from rear.

Enlarge lock hole by 1 mm (see illus.) to make space for child safety latch.

Rustproof

Apply primer, P/N 1227362-8, followed by rustproofing compound.
