Check temperature gauge using 68 ohm resistor (P/N 999 5824-1).
^ Disconnect battery ground lead.
^ Disconnect sensor lead.
^ Connect test resistor across connector terminals.
^ Reconnect battery ground lead and switch on ignition.

If instrument is intact, needle should indicate in middle of red zone. (Tolerance: ± width of needle.)

If reading is correct, sensor is faulty.

If reading is incorrect, instrument is faulty. Replace instrument. See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair

If instrument shows no reading, check wiring.
^ Use ohmmeter to check for wiring open-circuit.

If wiring is intact, replace instrument. See: Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and Repair
