Cold Start Injector: Description and Operation
The cold start injector is electrically operated and is used to supply extra fuel to the engine for cold starts. Injection time is controlled by a thermal
timer.
When current passes through the injector coil, the actuator is pulled up magnetically, allowing fuel to be injected through the injector opening into the
intake manifold. When the coil is no longer energized, the return spring forces the actuator against the seat, preventing fuel from leaving the injector.
