Another possible fault that may make the engine too rich is leakage at the gasket on the inlet side of the carburetor. If necessary, install two gaskets.

PROCEDURE 2. CARS WITHOUT A HOT START VALVE OR CARS WHERE METHOD 1 DID NOT HELP:

Back out the carburetor flange studs to approximately 24 mm's in length.

Install an insulating flange between the carburetor and the inlet manifold.
NOTE! Turn the flange so the idle hole is correctly aligned. (See arrows)

On SU and DVG carburetors, replace the carburetor linkage.

Adjust to 0.5 mm play according to illustration.
NOTE! Before adjustment, disconnect the throttle and kickdown cable.
