Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Testing and Inspection
EM. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 2-2-3 MFI LH 2.4 AND LH 3.1
2-2-3 Idle air control (IAC) valve signal absent or faulty.
DTC Conditions:
By measuring the valve power consumption the control module can ascertain whether the valve is operating within its normal range.
If terminal 33 is grounded, power consumption will be too high. The control module considers power consumption under 0.12 AMPS as a break in the
circuit.
The DTC 2-2-3 is logged in both cases.
Causes of fault:
Break or grounding in the circuit or in the AC valve.
Fault symptoms:
The engine will not start or is difficult to start.
Low idle speed.

Checking The Power Supply
-Disconnect the IAC valve.
-Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between terminal 1 on the connector and GND.
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.
If this value is OK:
-Check the AC valve EM2.
If the reading Is incorrect:
-Check the wiring between the IAC valve and #9 on the control module for breaks.
