Note:
If the new type of backingplate (crimped) is not fitted, a 60 mm (2-3/8 in.) length of protective moulding (P/N 679754-2 - per meter) can be
fitted (see photo).
The protective moulding (arrow) is fitted to help prevent damage to the dust caps when fitting a caliper in connection with changing disc or caliper.
Install brake pads
Tighten lower caliper guide pin to 34 N-m (25 ft.lbs.).
Caution:
It is extremely important that the bolt is tightened to the specified torque. Insufficient torque will cause looseness. Overtightening can compress sleeves
and impair movement.
Care should be taken when tilting the caliper to prevent damage to the rubber seal. The sliding action of the caliper can be impaired by water and
moisture entering the caliper through a damaged seal.
Remount wheels in marked position. Crosstorque wheel nuts to 85 N-m (63 ft.lb.) Lower vehicle.
Test brakes.
