REMOVE THE CYLINDER HEAD
Refer to Service Manual TP 30170/2 for instructions.
CAUTION: Do not place cylinder head on objects which may damage the sealing surface.
DISASSEMBLE THE CYLINDER HEAD
REMOVE:
-
belt tensioner. Secure spring with a 3 mm (1/8 in) drill.

lifting eye, thermostat housing and thermostat.
Remove camshaft pulley
Use counterhold P/N 9995034-7
Remove camshaft
Remove center housing cap, position press tool P/N 9995021-4 and press camshaft onto the cylinder head.
Remove remaining bearing caps, remove press tool, camshaft and oil seals.
Check bearing surfaces for damage
IMPORTANT:
If the front bearing is damaged, replace the cylinder head.
