THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO THE U.S. AND CANADA.
If all engine functions are normal, but cold start difficulties are experienced at temperatures below 0~F(-18~C), this condition may be caused by an
over-rich fuel mixture.
A new LH control unit is available to improve cold starting.
NOTE:
This control unit will be introduced during 1986 M/Y as a running change.

Replace the old control unit, which is located under the right side kick panel, with new LH
control unit, Bosch Part No. 0 280 000 544.
Repeated cold start attempts can cause spark plug fouling, oil dilution and battery discharging. Check for these conditions as follows:
Spark Plugs

Remove plugs and check for deposits

Replace plugs if fouled
Oil

Remove oil dipstick and check for distinctive gasoline smell

If YES, change oil
