TP 30801/1 (English), Suspension and Steering 1983--
Checking power-assisted steering gear balance and hydraulic pump pressure (vehicles equipped with the new round Saginaw TC power steering pump).
The Saginaw TC power-assisted steering gear was brought into production in conjunction with the introduction of the B230F/FT 1985 models. The
pump has a separate oil reservoir.
Described in this Service Bulletin is how to check the pressure of the hydraulic pump and the servo balance.
NOTE:
The steering gear has a radial-operating valve. It is, therefore, not possible to adjust the balance. This applies to both ZF and Cam Gear Power
Steering Gears.
