THIS SERVICE MANAGER BULLETIN APPLIES TO BOTH THE U.S. AND CANADA
Certain 1985/1986 model year 700 series gas turbo vehicles are equipped with oil drain pipes, the design of which restricts easy access to the oil filter
during servicing.
THIS CONDITION IS NOT SAFETY-RELATED AND WILL NOT IMPAIR DRIVEABILITY.
The affected vehicles are limited to approximately 5,400 in the U.S. and 540 in Canada.
A new drain pipe is available which will allow free access to the oil filter in these vehicles. The repair procedure will be to remove and replace the
existing oil drain pipe with the modified unit.
To complete this procedure, you will require the following parts:

The vehicles involved are as follows:
To assist you in identifying affected vehicles, we are providing you with a computer printout which lists all vehicles which were retailed through your
dealership as well as vehicles in your stock which are within the VIN range.
OWNER CONTACT
Owners of these vehicles will be notified directly from Volvo by letter. They are requested to have this repair modification performed during their next
regularly scheduled maintenance service appointment. They have been advised that this modification will be performed at no charge; however, the
maintenance service is still their responsibility.
Once the repair has been performed, you should submit a warranty claim for reimbursement. Include the following information on the claim:
