c. Push lever flush against slot.

Rotate crankshaft in normal direction of rotation until piston of No. 1 cylinder is at top dead center, mark in pump gear is opposite mark in
mounting bracket and flywheel is at 0° mark. Rotate engine using center bolt of vibration damper.

Remove plug from injection pump distributor.
4.
Install holder tool No. 5194 or equivalent and a suitable dial indicator with gauge set at approximately .079 inch (2 mm), on pump as shown, Fig.
2.

Turn pump gear back until the minimum reading is registered on dial indicator, then set indicator to zero.
6.
Turn engine clockwise until flywheel is at zero mark, then note dial indicator reading. Reading should be .0323 to .0354 inch.
7.
To adjust, loosen injection pump mounting bolts, then turn pump inward or outward until dial indicator reads .0335 inch. Injection pump setting
will be altered if pump is tapped or knocked.
8.
Rotate crankshaft two revolutions, then check pump setting and adjust as necessary.
9.
Remove dial indicator and holder, then install plug and torque to 6.5 ft. lbs.
10.
Install rear timing cover, then the cold start device.
