Throttle Body: Adjustments
Check Inlet System For Air Leakage
An air leak occurring between the air mass meter and the engine will result in the air fuel mixture being too lean.
Check:
-
Inlet system between air mass meter and intake manifold.
-
All hoses and connections on intake manifold.
-
Joint couplings and seals for intake manifold, throttle housing, etc.
Throttle Housing
Check throttle housing for dirt.
Clean Throttle Housing Where Necessary.
Disconnect the connector from throttle switch.
Remove throttle housing and clean with a suitable solvent. Do not allow solvent to come in contact with the throttle switch.
IMPORTANT: A dirty throttle housing indicates a blocked, incorrectly fitted or damaged air filter.
Basic Setting Of Throttle
Basic adjustment is carried out most easily in combination with cleaning of throttle housing.
Loosen lock nut.
Unscrew the adjustment screw until the throttle switch is completely closed.
Screw in adjustment screw until it just contacts link arm and then a further 1/4 turn.
Retighten nut, making sure that adjustment screw does not alter position.
