Replacing Crash Sensor
Note:
This information completely replaces pages 49-52 in TP31404/1. Please cross-out those pages in the manual and note this bulletin for
reference.
Starting with 1989 model year production, the crash sensor is grounded directly to the mounting bracket. Only the new-version sensor is
available as a replacement. Since the crash sensor is grounded through the bracket, it is extremely important that the bracket makes good
electrical contact with the vehicle body.
Note:
The crash sensor has an identification number which must be used to order replacement parts.
REQUIRED PARTS:
Crash sensor, replacement
Warning:Do Not Remove Crash Sensor From Bracket. Do Not Disconnect Crash Sensor Connector.
