Trip Computer: Description and Operation
General Information (VDO Only)
The Yazaki Instrument Panel has no trip computer as there is no microprocessor within it. This information, therefore, applies only to VDO Instrument

Data Collection
The trip computer receives data which is continuously evaluated by a micro-processor. The following data is used by the trip computer:

Current vehicle speed;
Information from the speedometer

Current fuel consumption;
Fuel pulse signals from ignition control module (ICM)

Fuel remaining in the fuel tank;
Signal from fuel gauge after processing in the combined instrument panel

Outside temperature;
Signal from outside temperature sensor.
Functions
The trip computer display has two fields. The left displays the time and the right displays one of the following functions:

Average speed

Current fuel consumption

Average fuel consumption since last reset

Outside temperature
-
Mileage since last reset
-
Range to empty fuel tank.
