Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair
The following applies when installing and tightening wheel bolts.
1. Ensure that the brake disc and wheel mating faces are clean. Lubricate the wheel locating pin in the hub with anti-rust agent, P/N 1161030-0.
2. Tighten the wheel bolts lightly, then tighten diagonally to a final torque of 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.). Use torque socket 1158147-7 if using nut runner.
3. Diagonal tightening and torquing are essential to avoid stressing the brake disc.
4. The torque socket is designed for tightening with a standard, impact-type, pneumatic nut runner delivering a torque of 250-350 Nm (184.5-258.0
ft. lbs.).
