New Edge Masking Tape
New edge masking tape for touching up body paintwork has been introduced as an addition to the conventional type of tape. The new tape is available
from 3M (Door Aperture Refinishing Tape - DART and can be ordered from 3M (p/n 051131-06297).
Applications
- Door openings
- Hood
- Trunk
- Marking off (e.g. for painting sections of doors)
- Sunroof opening
When painting parts of the body, the new tape allows better merging at overlaps. Other parts which are not to be painted should be masked off in the
normal manner.
