Volvo Car Corporation of Sweden has approved the following paint manufacturers products for use when refinishing Volvo vehicles:
BASF, DuPont, ICI, PPG, Sikkens, Standox
Complete specifications and product designations can be found in the Volvo Service Manual Section 8 (80) 1 "Paint Repair Work" TP31600/1.
The manufacturers offer complete paint product lines from primers to clear coats. Some of the manufacturers offer various support programs which
include mixing systems, color matching systems, technical support hotlines, technical training centers, body shop management, body shop design and
warranties.
