Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

REMOVE

1. Disconnect clutch cylinder hose from fluid reservoir. If car is equipped with hydraulic clutch: Attach plugged hose to connection and tie to

member between suspension strut tower and bulkhead.

2. Master cylinder (1). Carefully move cylinder aside. 
3. Vacuum hose and non-return valve from brake servo.
4. Fuel filter (2). Move filter aside.
5. Soundproofing panel.

6. Pushrod from brake pedal.
7. Brake servo.

INSTALL

1. Brake servo seal. Bolt sealing rings (four), P/N 35 30 9808
2. Brake servo. Tighten bolts to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).

NOTE:  Ensure that brake pedal return spring is fitted correctly.

3. Pushrod to brake pedal. Insert spindle bolt and attach clip. 
4. Soundproofing panel.
5. Master cylinder.
6. Reconnect hose from clutch cylinder to fluid reservoir (applies to cars with hydraulic clutches). Fill with genuine Volvo brake fluid.
