Canister Purge Control Valve: Testing and Inspection

CHARCOAL CANISTER AIR VALVE 
1.

Check all the vacuum hoses and vapor lines connected to the E.C.S. system for condition and aging. 

2.

Connect suitable vacuum pump to smaller hose connection.

3.

Blow into large opening, air passage should be blocked (except for a small purge).

4.

Draw vacuum on valve.

5.

Blow into large opening, air passage should be open.

6.

If necessary, replace charcoal canister with valve. Fig. 66.
