EGR Electronic Vacuum Regulator Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The controller stabilizes the signal from the intake manifold and converts the control module signal into a modified vacuum signal for controlling
the EGR valve. 

NOTE:  Later-version controllers have the connector mounted on the unit itself (see image). An extension harness is available to modify
earlier-version wiring.

OPERATION

The EGR valve is supplied with a vacuum control signal from one compartment in the controller. Vacuum from the intake manifold is supplied to
another compartment.
