The accelerator pedal allows the driver to adjust the amount of engine output dependant upon varying power demands. The pedal is connected to the
throttle cable. As the pedal is pushed towards the floor, the cable is pulled, which in turn opens the throttle valve. In order to operate properly, the
accelerator cable is adjustable.
