940 L4-2.3L SOHC VIN 88 B230F (1992)

Install new solenoid and press home retaining clip.

Move gear selector lever to position P and install shift lock solenoid in lower mounting.

Press solenoid backwards until it snaps into upper mounting.

Reinstall housing and reconnect connector(s).

Reconnect reaction arm and control rod (washer and clip).

Reconnect connector on cars with AW 70/71
-
Check that selector lever clearance between positions D and N is the same as between 2 and 1 (applies to 740, 940, 940SE).

On 960, clearance between D and N should be the same as between 3 and L.

If required, adjust.

With ignition on, check that gear selector lever cannot be moved from P position. Operate brake pedal and check that lever can be moved to select
