Clutch Cable: Service and Repair
1. Disconnect the cable from the fork. In the case of cars in which the release bearing rotates, the clutch release fork is not fitted with a return spring.
The return spring is fitted to the pedal assembly instead.
2. Disconnect the cable from the pedal.
3. Remove the cable. On some earlier cars, a weight is fitted to the cable at the bulkhead. The weight must not be fitted to the new cable. Remove the
cable with the weight remaining on it.
3. Fit the new cable in the reverse order.
Use grease part number:
1 161 246-2 50-gramme tube
1 161 247-0 500-gramme cartridge
4. Adjust the clearance. See: Clutch Release Fork/Adjustments
