The following information is in addition to that presented in the 1992 New Car Features manual.

It is no longer necessary to check belt tension thanks to the use of a new, more accurate tool in production.

The cold-start valve is discontinued on engines with LH2.4 multi-point fuel injection (MFI). This resulted from a change in the control module starting
program. If the engine does not start within 5-10 seconds, the attempt is interrupted and a new attempt is made.

Note:
Although the valve may continue to be physically placed in certain engine variants during a transition period, it will be inoperative.

For environmental reasons, the mercury switch operating the 744 trunk light is replaced by a mechanical switch at the rear edge of the trunk lid.

The wiring in the engine compartment in the 740 and 940 has been simplified with the use of fewer connectors. Also, the appearance was improved by
using cable ducts.

The window winder mechanism mounting and rail have been modified to reduce the winding effort.

Mid-year 1992 960 vehicles now also have a driver's side sunvisor mirror.
