Backup Lamp Switch: Service and Repair
Removal

1. Lower the rear end of the gearbox
2. Support the gearbox by means of a hoist and fixture P/N 5972.
3. Slacken the exhaust pipe joint slightly. Release the gearbox cross-member from the body.
4. Lower the rear end of the gearbox.

5. Blow clean the area around the switch.
6. Remove the reversing light switch.

A: For a switch without cables, use a socket.
B: For a switch with cables, disconnect the connector and remove the switch by means of socket P/N 5250. (This is a combined reversing light

switch/transmitter for 1st and 2nd gear.)
