THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO U.S. & CANADIAN MARKETS
The new drift shown is now required to press out the propeller shaft intermediate bearing (located in the center support) and to press in the bearing and
rear guard ring.
Analysis of dealer replaced bearings has revealed premature bearing failures due to the use of a 50 mm socket as specified in the current repair manual
TP30798/1. Tool 5432 has been designed to prevent bearing installation damage and will be automatically shipped to all Volvo dealers as a mandatory
tool.
Please inform your personnel of the need to use this tool. Repair procedures will be changed in the next repair manual revision to show the use of this
tool in place of a 50 mm socket. Please annotate your repair manuals accordingly.
