Background:
This service bulletin describes how to calibrate the convertible top system. A new calibration procedure has been developed which uses the Volvo
System Tester (VST).
Testing the Convertible Top
Testing
The following conditions must be met when operating the softtop:
-
Vehicle at stand still.
-
trunk lid closed.
-
parking brake applied.
Check if relay test is performed when the ignition is switched on (a rattling sound will be heard from the control module).
Start the engine.
Activate the soft top using button on dash.
Allow the soft top to run to each of its limit positions.
When the soft top is being operated, check that:
-
the LED on the rocker switch on the dash button is lit while the soft top is being operated.
-
the side windows open and close correctly.
-
the soft top moves normally and does not stick or operate unevenly.
-
there is no unusual noise from the soft top during operation.
