Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Replacing stop (brake) light switch later type 

Preparations  

-

Check that the ignition is switched off.

-

Remove soundproofing.

Removing  

-

Depress brake pedal and lock it in the depressed position with a pedal jack.

-

Press stop (brake) light switch housing forward towards the pedal mounting bracket to release the white locking sleeve.

-

Pull the white locking sleeve towards the tip of the stop (brake) light switch as far as it will go.

-

Push in stop (brake) light switch catches and remove switch.

-

Disconnect connector.
