Clean and degrease the surface.
Carefully remove all dirt, wax, fingerprints, sanding residue etc.
Silicon is removed with thinners or with silicon removal agent suitable for steel plate, galvanized plate or aluminum.

Note! If the panel is not cleaned before priming blistering and rust can develop. 

Sand the damaged area to bare metal
