Install the wheel bearing unit. Use new screws. Lightly lubricate the outer threads and tighten crosswise. Tighten to 65 Nm.
Angle-tighten the screws for the wheel bearing unit crosswise. Tighten to 60 degrees. Use bevel protractor 951 2050.
Finishing
Check the drive shaft for damage to the mating surfaces with the wheel bearing.
Check the splines.
Clean and check the pulse wheel. Check the shape of the cogs.
Lubricate the splines and mating surfaces with the wheel bearing sparingly.
Remove the drive shaft from where it was hung earlier.
Turn the spring strut a half turn to disconnect it from the control arm.
NOTE: Take care not to damage the brake hose.
Install the drive shaft in the hub by hand. It must be possible to move the drive shaft easily backward and forward when it is in position.
