Seat Latch: Removal and Replacement

Removing seats and upholstery
Remove the seat, the lumber support and the backrest adjustment knobs and the upholstery for the backrest. See Components backrest, replacing See:

replacing See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat, Driver's Seat, Front Seat/Components Backrest, Replacing (2003-).
Hint: Only lift the backrest upholstery enough to expose the whiplash element.
Screw the backrest adjustment to the maximum reclining position.
Note! Power seats: Use an external 12 V power source.
Release the adjustment mechanism. Fold the backrest forward.
Removing the whiplash element
Note! Make a note of the routing of the SRS ignition cable and the location of the cable clips. Remove the cable clips. Move the SRS ignition
cable to one side.
Remove the spring.
Remove:
-
the indicator pin or its remains (only applies to cars up to chassis number -642122)
-
one nut on each side
-
one spindle from each side.
