Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

Lock Mechanism Front Side Door, Replacing

Removing the lock mechanism from the front side door

Remove the door panel.
Move the run-off profile to one side.
Remove the link for the lock button.

CAUTION:  For vehicles with deadlocking, the cover must be removed. See Handle, outer, front side door, replacing.

Remove the guide molding from the guide rail.
Drill out the blind rivet for the guide rail.
Remove the guide rail by pulling it straight downwards.
Remove the links from the door handle.
