Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Condenser, replacing

Removal

Important information

Note! For vehicles with chassis no. up to -86697, see: Txv-valve and connector pipe See: Expansion Valve/Service and Repair/TXV-Valve and
Connector Pipe.

S60 with chassis no. from and including 471445 see: Condenser, replacing See:

V70 manufactured in Sweden (factory code: 1) with chassis no. from and including 506584 and V70 manufactured in Belgium (factory code: 2)
with chassis no. from and including 505663 see: Condenser, replacing See:

XC70 with chassis no. from and including 195820 see: Condenser, replacing See: .

Before starting work on the condenser

Warning! Follow the safety instructions for work on air conditioning systems. See applicable service precautions.

Note! First read the instructions covering slow and fast leaks. See Oil in the A/C system See: Refrigerant Oil/Service and Repair.

Note! Always plug the pipes and connections when working on the climate control system.

Condenser - Work in the engine compartment

Disconnect the battery negative lead. See Battery, replacing See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Battery, Replacing

Drain the refrigerant from the system. 

-

Remove the air pipe from the control module box.

-

Remove the upper screws holding the air conditioning aggregate together. Pull the aggregate outwards slightly.
