SUBJECT: Sunroof rattling repair
REFERENCE: VADIS /information manager/ Removal replacement and installation /83 Doors and lids / Glass sunroof replacement
DESCRIPTION:
Insufficient torque on the screws attaching the sunroof glass to the guide rails may cause a rattling noise from the sunroof in the vehicles below.
SERVICE:
If customer complaint is consistent with the above description and within the chassis break perform the following:
1.
To expose the screws carefully remove the apron moulding as described in VADIS.
2.
Replace the existing screws with screw (P/N 973155) and washer (P/N 120085).
*Note:
Apply a minimal amount of thread sealant (P/N 1161075) to the bottom halt of the threads (first 3 mm of the screw) and carefully start the screws to
prevent cross threading.
3.
Be sure to torque the screws to 5 Nm. Do not over tighten as this may distort the guide rails.
