S60 L5-2.4L VIN 64 B5244S6 (2003)
Remove torx TX40.
Clean off any sealant from the threads. Use thread tap M8 x 1.25.
Removing cover for control system
Remove the cover.
Use gasket wedge 999 5477 JOINT WEDGE See: Tools and Equipment/999 5477 Joint Wedge. Tap the wedge carefully into the joint between the
cover and the transmission to ensure that the cover sealing flange is not distorted.
Cleaning cover
Caution! Ensure that no debris enters the transmission.
Clean the gasket residue from the cover and the transmission. Wash the cover thoroughly. Check that the mating surface for the cover is level.
Installation
Cleaning cover
Wipe the cleaned mating surfaces of the cover and the transmission dry. Use Isopropanol
Apply a bead of sealant, P/N 116 1409-6, approximately 3 mm thick on the cover.
Also apply sealant around the screw holes.
