the seat belt (inertia) reel and the seat belt tensioner by pulling the unit straight upwards. Leave the clips and fixture in place.

Installing seat belts for the front seats

Install in reverse order. See Removing seat belts from the front seats.
Then check the seat belt function. See Checking the function of the seatbelt.

Replacing seat belts after a collision

Preparations

Disconnect the battery lead.

Removal

Warning! The ignition must not be switched on when the SRS ignition cable connector is being removed or installed.

Warning! Under no circumstances use an ohmmeter or other live measuring instrument to take readings on a disconnected non-deployed seat
belt tensioner. This could deploy it.

Warning! After a collision, the seat belt (inertia) reels and tensioners must always be replaced. This applies even if no one was seated in the
passenger seat at the time of the collision.

Warning! Seat belt tensioners must never be unscrewed, repaired or moved to another vehicle. For information about what to do with used seat
belt tensioners, see Handling non-deployed SRS-components See: Service and Repair/Discarding Pyrotechnic Components.
